The Perth Undergraduate Choral Society Inc. and The Royal Agricultural Society of WA Brass celebrate their 50th Anniversaries in 2010 with a concert celebrating 50 years of music making in Western Australia, and 500 years of music composition. "A Celebration of Choir and Brass" will be presented on Saturday the 18th September at 7.30pm, in St. Joseph's Church Subiaco. The concert features music for choirs and brass ensembles from the Venetian Renaissance to the present day, including the Australian premiere of Young Lochinvar by Derek Bourgeois and the WA premiere of Waratah by Australian composer Matthew Orlovich. Also on the programme are Handel's masterpiece 'Zadok the Priest', and much loved Verdi choruses from Il Trovatore and Nabucco, alongside sublime music by Bruckner, Rachmaninov and Tavener.

Perth Undergraduate Choral Society is one of Perth's oldest choirs and is dedicated to encouraging the enjoyment and appreciation of choral singing amongst students from all WA Universities and the wider community. The choir performs in a range of styles from Renaissance to contemporary and popular music. The choir's most recent concert, 'Safari Ya Afrika' presented a programme of African music to a capacity audience in Wesley Church.

WA's premier brass ensemble, The Royal Agricultural Society of WA Brass provides music in all styles - from traditional hymns, marches and contest music to light classics, popular and specialty music. The ensemble has commissioned new compositions for brass band and often performs the Western Australian premier of major works. As well as significant exposure to the Western Australian community, the band has toured widely in Australia and overseas.
